To rant or not to rant ?. That is the question from Howard Jarrold
|
RANT === TO speak or shout at length in an angry impassioned way I think it fair to say that a good rant is both efficacious and beneficial in a make you feel good sort of way. Does it achieve change or is it passed off as the ramblings of an habitual complainer ? I am now going to have a rant which I would like very much for you members of the club to comment on, or maybe something else is getting you hot under the collar. Dare I hope that there are a few rants out there that will benefit from the oxygen of publicity. Please email me hjarrold@gmail.com and I will publish it. There have got to be some rules obviously, and they are, !. No personal ones i.e named ones that are malicious in their intent. 2. No anonymous rants. If you can't put your name to it don't bother. 3.Keep it relevant to club matters 4. Priority will be given to those rants that are constructive, designed in the author's opinion to benefit the club. Extra brownie points for those that have thought about it enough to offer some answers to the point ( s ) made. In particular I would like to hear from new members. What do you think ? My rant is LEAVE THE RINK IN A PROPER TIDY CONDITION. Mats left on the rink not placed properly along not over the back bank and extra jacks not returned to the bar. I picked up 3 this morning. Why does it matter? Apart from the obvious , think of this. Two skips, new match, short jack, back ditch not checked ( why should it be ? ) jack driven into ditch , 2 or more jacks !!! which is which ? Could have been so easily avoided. Please take pride in the club and its facilities. Rant over and over to you Howard A member has just suggested that the lead player could be given the job of making sure all is tidy. . What do you think?
