DENNY CUP RESULT against North Cave               from Gordon Wood

DENNY CUP v North Cave

Lincoln Indoor progressed to the 4th round of the Denny with a 91 - 65 win against North Cave.

The result never looked in doubt from the start as a 5 end score of 27 - 9 followed by 10 ends in favour of LIBC by 55 - 22 made it all uphill for North Cave. Kevin Rands and Richard Ashton both had good rink scores by preventing the opposition from scoring a single shot in the first 9 ends. Kevin going 15 - 0 (home) and Richard 13 - 0 (away).

15 ends score (68 - 41) showed North Cave making up a little ground as their home rinks had gained a 1 shot lead against our away rinks. As expected the North Cave rinks were stronger than the away rinks who were 18 - 44 down at Lincoln.

18 ends saw a score of 74 - 57 in our favour and with Kevin's rink leading 26 - 3 and Richard's rink 15 -8 and with both rinks playing well, I relaxed and ordered a cup of coffee and a slice of game pie.

21 ends. LIBC ended the better team out scoring North Cave 17 - 8 across the board.

At home
R Jackson, W Bell, A Watts and W Jackson 27 -28
John Nott, Ian Tointon, Steve Burton and K Rands 28 - 4

Away
Sam Ashton, D Skayman, C Barks and G Draper 20 -23
J Staples, G Smith, D Stevenson and R Ashton 16 - 10

Special mention for Steve Burton at home and Richard Ashton away, both played extremely well throughout the day.

Also thanks to the LIBC supporters, in particular the away support. Especially Bob Mansell who kept me enthralled with tales of how good he used to be.

NEXT GAME IS AGAINST THE STRONG MELTON SIDE who had, what looks like, and easy win against Spalding on the 9th December.
