NEWS LETTER October 2019 from The Ladies Section
|
We would like to welcome all new Lady Members to the club. The Ladies Section has an information leaflet, available at the bar. We hope you find it helpful.
Before we get into full swing this season, just a few reminders you may find useful.
If any team needs to cancel a ladies league game please contact our League Secretary Sheila Plaskitt. Sheila is happy to help anyone who needs more players for their team, wants to join a ladies league team or be on the floaters list.
The ladies county competition draw is on the ladies competition board. If you entered please be aware of 'play by dates' of each round.
The ladies club competition entry forms are now available (in the rack by the Ladies notice board). There are competitions for novice bowlers, so don't be shy have a go. Sue Johnston is the Ladies Competition Secretary, she is very approachable and always ready to help.
Did you put name on the yellow 'consideration for selection' sheets? If so please keep an eye on the Ladies Notice Board for the team sheets. If selected tick availability asap and if not available, can you inform Lin Mountain (Ladies Captain) asap, tel numbers are on the sheet.
The dates for the Trudy Bates matches are in the club handbook. The national team competitions dates (Mason, Yetton, Vivienne) can be found on the ElBA website, click competitions). Please make a note of these.
The first County Association Game, is to be played at Boston IBC on Sunday 3rd of November, start time 2pm. Lincoln has been asked to supply two rinks. The second is on Tuesday 19th November at Spalding IBC start 12.30pm. If you would like to play in either or both of these games, please put your name on the sheet. Lincoln has been allocated 2 further games , 4th Dec at Horncastle and 22nd Jan 2020 at Sleaford. These games go towards you being awarded your county badge.
Remember meals for the matches at home can be banked, but Wendy needs at least 24 hrs notice, similarly for any dietary requirements and extra meals. Away games, extra meals and dietary needs to be given to the Captain at least three week days in advance.
The ladies played their first Trudy Bates County League on Friday 11th Oct and glad to say they won on all rinks, well done. Hopefully this is the sign of good things to come.
The club is running a markers session, it's always good to improve your skills so if you would like to take part put your name down on the list at the bar.
If you have any queries, suggestions or need any advice your Ladies Section is here to help.
