Close game in this round of the Egham Trophy Gedling pushing us close until the final 3 ends were, we managed to pull away to win the game.
After 5 ends Lincoln took a 4-shot lead mainly due to Kevin’s rink getting of to a flier picking up 8 shots to none against.
At 10 ends Tony’s rink found the pace of the green away after been 7 shots behind at 5 ends pulled it to 1 down giving Lincoln a 9-shot advantage.
At 15 ends the difference across the boards was 8 shots in Lincoln’s favour Richard just hanging on away with a big scoring 5 ends picking up 5 shots to 8 against. Jonathan starting to get the better at home moving into a 3 shot lead after the first 10 ends been shared.
At 18 ends as the away scores come through the lead was 10 shots.Richard weathering the fight back, Kevin stretching his lead slightly, Jonathan keeping the gap, just need Tony to not do anything silly away and we would be through.
At 21 ends panic over Lincoln victorious by 15 shots but a great fight by Gedling not quiet getting the better of Lincoln on the day.
Next a 3rd Round derby against close neighbours Dunholme on Sunday 27th November who overcame Horncastle in there tie.
